From the North (M6 Junction 33)
Leaving the motorway for A6 Garstang, turn immediately left into Hampson Lane. Turn right at the end. Follow this road passing straight through all the cross roads, over a moor with cattle grids, past Oakenclough Mill and on until it ends at a T junction (about 8 miles). Turn left into Bleasdale Lane. Continue to T junction (about 2 miles), then turn left (Walker Lane).
Big Blindhurst is the first farm road on the left (just after a sharp double bend).
From the East
Take the A59 to Clitheroe.
Leave Clitheroe on the B6243 to Longridge. Cross the river, and just after the Edinsford Bridge Pub turn right, and follow signs to Chipping.
Pass straight through Chipping and follow Garstang signs, after 2.5 miles you will pass a gliding club on your left. The road then bears left and downhill, continue passing a farm on the roadside (about 1/2 mile).
Big Blindhurst is the next farm lane on the right.
From the South (either M6 Junction 31A or 32)
Junction 31A:
Leave M6 at J31A and follow signs to Longridge town centre. Leave Longridge following signs for Chipping. Turn left at Derby Arms (1 mile). Continue to top of hill (1.5 miles) and turn right. Take first left (1/2 mile) into Quiet Lane. Take first left (1/3 mile) into Hough Clough Lane. Continue straight through cross roads to end (2 miles) and turn right.
Big Blindhurst is the first farm lane on the left (1/3 mile).
Junction 32:
Leave M6 at J32, take A6 towards Garstang. At first traffic lights turn right (B5269 Longridge). Pass under motorway and take first left (Langley Lane). Take second left into Silk Mill Lane. In Inglewhite go straight through cross roads into Button Street.
Continue to end. Turn right into Bleasdale Road. Follow this road (which turns into Oakenclough Road, then Walker Lane) for about 3 miles. After passing Watery Gate Lane on your right, Big Blindhurst is the first farm lane on your left (1/3 mile). |
