OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
The price you have been quoted includes electricity, towels & bed linen, tea towels, cot and stair-gate. We don’t, however provide bedding for the cot. We also provide a complimentary ‘welcome tray’ which includes some tea bags, biscuits, fresh milk, washing up liquid, dish cloth, tea towels etc. Please note that as in all self-catering cottages, you need to bring your own daily provisions.
The first bucket of coal is also provided free of charge (there is central heating as well!). Subsequent buckets are sold at cost price.
ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE
Arrival time is 3pm, as we need until then to service the cottage for you. Departure time is 10am as this is what time we need to start preparing the cottage for the next guests.
CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
By renting our cottage, guests undertake to keep the property, furniture, fixtures and other items belonging to the cottage in the same state of repair and condition as found at the start of your rental period.
We do not normally make a charge for small breakages/damage if you report these to us as soon as they happen so that we can get the item(s) replaced in time for the arrival of the next guests. We are more likely to make a charge for a breakage or damage if it is not reported to us. A charge will be made if the cottage is not left reasonably clean and tidy.
Liability cannot be accepted for the unlikely loss or damage to you or your property whilst staying at, or travelling to and from the cottage. Guests are responsible for the safe keeping of the cottage, therefore you must remember to lock doors, close windows and ensure the fireguard is in place if you’ve had a fire in last 12 hours.
We kindly ask guests to be considerate & ensure that the central heating, log fire and lights are not left on all day when you are out of the cottage. Your thoughtfulness here would be very much appreciated.
Please note that smoking is not allowed in any part of the cottage.
PAYMENT
A 25% deposit is required to reserve the cottage. We are unable to guarantee your booking if payment is not received within 7 days. . If your booking is less than 5 weeks away, we’ll need the full payment.
Once the deposit is received, we will send you a receipt which will give you the details of when to send the balance of payment, which is 4 weeks before your arrival. When we receive your final payment, we’ll get in touch to confirm this and ensure you have directions to the cottage.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Unfortunately as a small business, we can only accept cheques. Please make these payable to ‘Elisabeth Kelsall’ and send to the Big Blindhurst Farm, Bleasdale, Nr Preston, PR3 1UT.
CANCELLATIONS
We recommend that you take out the cancellation insurance. If you are not insured, we would endeavour to re-let the cottage and if successful, we will refund you all the money you have paid to us less £50 for advertising and administration costs. If we are unable to re-let the cottage, we will unfortunately have to charge the full rent.
